NAME: Platycerium Holttumii COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Southeast Asia and Malaysia EASE OF GROWTH: Moderately difficult to grow. SENSITIVITY: It is cold sensitive. Susceptible to rots, it is a little more demanding than the other giant stags. APPEARANCE: Produces large unbranched foliar fronds, dark green. Basal fronds brown in the winter. TEMPERATURE: Warm to Intermediate;15°c min. to 35°c max. WATERING: Moist; 1 waterings per week (let moss become somewhat dry between waterings) "not hard dry" Less water in winter or cooler months. LIGHTING: Bright light Comments: Not all that difficult to grow, likes wormer weather and lots of water when growing. When they are established pup's "New Fern" will start emerging from the roots of the mother fern. When they get to be about 4 inches they should be removed.
